Bengals QB Joe Burrow initially wanted to play RB or WR

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow unveiled on Thursday the dislocated pinkie finger on his throwing hand he initially suffered on Dec. 5 "doesn't bother" him anymore as it pertains to slinging footballs ahead of the upcoming Super Bowl matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. 

Somewhat humorously, Burrow also admitted during the media session he didn't want to be a signal-caller when he was younger. 

"I wanted to be a running back or a receiver, I don't know why," the 25-year-old remarked, according to Kevin Patra of the NFL's website. "I guess I thought in peewee football we weren't gonna throw the ball very much, so I wanted to have the ball in my hand. Obviously, I'm glad it worked out the way that it did. This is my career, I don't know if I'd be an NFL wide receiver, that's probably a pipe dream, but I can play quarterback pretty well."

Burrow can also make history two Sundays down the road. Per Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, Burrow is a victory away from becoming the first quarterback to win the Heisman Trophy, a college national championship and a Super Bowl. 

Across Burrow's first three postseason starts, he completed 75-of-109 passes (68.8%) for 842 yards, four touchdowns, two interceptions a 96.2 passer rating and 46.6 total QBR. Not bad for a second-year pro who, theoretically, is still years away from his physical prime.
