Bengals WR Tee Higgins 'still' shocked by QB Joe Burrow's smarts

Led by a tremendous performance on Sunday by quarterback Joe Burrow, the Cinncinatti Bengals held on for a 37-30 win over AFC North rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After the victory, wideout Tee Higgins lauded the performance of his quarterback, who still surprises him with his intelligence every week.

"It's still shocking how smart he is and how he makes checks and audibles," Higgins told Charlie Goldsmith of the Cincinnati Enquirer. "Hats off to him for being the quarterback he is... Even the looks he wasn't expecting, he was prepared. He audibled as much as he needed to, and it was the right audible."

Burrow wasn't perfect in Sunday's win, throwing multiple interceptions for the first time since being picked off four times in a Week 1 overtime loss to the Steelers. However, when it mattered most, Burrow came up big. The 25-year-old posted his third-career four-touchdown day and first since Week 17 of 2021 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Burrow finished 24-of-39 for 355 yards, becoming the third-fastest quarterback to eclipse 10,000 career yards.

Along with Higgins, fellow wideout Tyler Boyd also talked up his quarterback.

"Nothing changed from last year," Boyd told Fox 19 in Cincinnati. "We're stacked. As long as we've got Joe Burrow, we can't lose."

Through 10 games, Burrow ranks second among starting quarterbacks in touchdowns (22), third in passing yards (2,890), and fourth in completion percentage (69.1).
