Nick Saban is one of the most decorated coaches in not just the history of football, but also in any team sport. Although he had a brief stint as an NFL head coach, he is most remembered as a college football coach who had success just about everywhere he went while molding young bodies and minds.
After calling it quits following the 2023 season, 2025 has been a big year for him thus far. In January, he was elected into the College Football Hall of Fame, and on Tuesday, he won a Sports Emmy award in the category of "Outstanding Personality/Emerging On-Air Talent."

Saban held a number of assistant coaching roles at various schools throughout the 1970s and 1980s before being hired as a head coach by Toledo for the 1990 season. He spent the following four seasons as the Cleveland Browns' defensive coordinator under a young head coach by the name of Bill Belichick.
In 1995, he started a five-year stint as Michigan State's head coach. But it was at LSU in the early 2000s where he started to make his name, as he guided the school to the national championship during the 2003 season.
He's perhaps best remembered as the head coach of the powerhouse Alabama Crimson Tide from 2007 to 2023. He was hired by the historic program after two dismal years as the Miami Dolphins' head coach, and he won his first of six NCAA titles with the school in 2009.
Saban is known as a mentor as well as a coach to his players who keeps in touch with his former players even after they leave school. Since retiring, he has been an analyst for ESPN, mostly for the show "College GameDay."
