With each passing day more and more fans are warming up to the idea of Micah Parsons playing elsewhere — and Bill Simmons appears to be one of them.
Not long after the NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah floated the idea that New England should make a move for an " expensive star player " while quarterback Drake Maye is still on a rookie contract, Simmons admitted that he's starting to Parsons could soon be a Patriot.
"With Drake Maye on a rookie deal, it makes sense for NE to be interested in trading for an expensive star player," Jeremiah shared Monday. "[Trey] Hendrickson or [Terry] McLaurin make sense but I'd call the Cowboys first & shoot my shot for [Micah] Parsons."
Simmons, a lifelong Boston sports fan, is one of many folks in the New England area keeping a close eye on the Micah Parsons situation.
The All-Pro defensive end has been in a contract stalemate with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones for the better part of a year now after watching the team hand out top-of-the-market money to the likes of Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and the since retired Zack Martin.
Parsons had made it clear in the lead up to negotiations that he'd like to remain a Cowboy for life and had no plans of playing elsewhere. But that tone has since shifted and he's publicly come out and said that he no longer wants to be there.
The Patriots are one a few teams that look like they could sneak up on some people this year. And with plenty of money to spend and an exciting young quarterback to build around, adding a star like Parsons could be a swing that pays huge dividends for them going forward.
Taking to X on Tuesday, Simmons admitted that he's been trying to temper expectations when it comes to a potential blockbuster deal. However, it's becoming harder and harder to not get used to the idea of Micah in Foxborough.
"Been trying not to get my hopes up for a Patriots/Micah Parsons trade for 4 weeks," The Ringer founder said. "Starting to cave."

Parsons has proven to be a game-wrecking presence over his first four years in the league — with four straight Pro Bowl selections and an appearance on the DPOY ballot every season he's suited up.
We'll see just how aggressive Mike Vrabel and his staff want to be in Year 1 if Micah and Jerry don't make up.
If Parsons is going to get traded, three NFL teams make the most sense, according to The Spun's Andrew Holleran:
Will Parsons be suiting up for another team when Week 1 arrives?
