Bill Simmons is a well-known member of the mainstream media and isn't afraid to show his Boston bias from time to time.
After finishing this past season 4-13, Simmons guaranteed on the most recent episode of his podcast that the New England Patriots would bounce back in a massive way and finish 10-7 next season.
While this type of turnaround is possible, especially with New England's draft assets and cap space, this still seems extremely optimistic.
The Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles had an incredible offseason this past year, turning one of the worst defenses in the league < a href="https://www.nbcsportsphiladelphia.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/eagles-miracle-defensive-turnaround-super-bowl-lix/648022/">into arguably the best, so anything is possible with good roster management.
It also helps that Drake Maye is a promising quarterback on a rookie contract, so if he makes a big leap in year two under the tutelage of Josh McDaniels and Mike Vrabel, the playoffs are in play.
However, without a clear schedule and updates to other teams' rosters, especially within the division, this prediction feels very premature.
The Patriots have many holes on their roster, and it will be difficult to fill all of them in one offseason.
A couple of years to turn things around under an overhauled coaching staff seems more realistic.
Until the offseason concludes, a prediction for a turnaround of this magnitude is optimistic at best.
