The Buffalo Bills have been without their top wide receiver for nearly a month now. DJ Moore has not played since Buffalo’s last loss in Week 4 against the New England Patriots. Fortunately, the Bills have won their last two games without him, but they certainly would like him back in the mix.
Moore has been dealing with an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder for the majority of the season, even before Week 4 against the Patriots when he left early after reaggravating it.
Given Buffalo is in it for the long haul, the team has been cautious with Moore. That caution is also informed by the fact that Buffalo gave up a second-round pick to acquire him this past offseason.
After Buffalo’s bye week in Week 7, it appears Moore has hit a turning point in his recovery. On Wednesday, Moore officially returned to practice in a limited capacity.
Bills head coach Joe Brady commented on his return, saying “it will be nice to get him (DJ Moore) back on the football field today,” according to Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News.
However, that was not the only boost the wide receiver room got on Wednesday. Wide receiver Tyrell Shavers officially had his 21-day practice window opened as well. He had been on injured reserve all season after tearing his ACL in January.

Although Shavers may not be activated this week, it is a big step in the right direction as he looks to reclaim his role as the fourth receiver on Buffalo’s depth chart.
Last year, Shavers was a reliable target for Josh Allen, hauling in 15 receptions for 245 yards and a touchdown. Buffalo is starting to get healthier, and the offense could be even more dangerous with both Moore and Shavers working their way back.
