Buffalo Bills veteran cornerback Tre'Davious White has not been ruled out of the Week 1 contest against the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 7. A sign of good things to come for a fan base that's been waiting in eager anticipation for any news surrounding the injury. General manager Brandon Beane discussed with the media the team's plan for White after the veteran suffered an undisclosed lower-leg injury toward the end of practice and needed help from a medical cart to get out of the tunnel. That's not to say the update was perfect, White is by no means out of the woods. However, it's been confirmed by Beane that White doesn't have a season-ending injury.

"We've got other guys that we believe in. The other guys on the 53, and then we'll have the guys on the practice squad ready to roll. We're very confident in who we have, and obviously, our medical team and Tre will do everything they can to be ready for Baltimore. You guys know Tre, he's been through a couple of things. Luckily, this is not any type of season-ending thing. He's preparing, and like we said we'll take it one day at a time."

Beane added, "I'm not ruling him out, no," when asked about White's availability for Week 1 of the regular season.

The general manager walked the media through what White has been going through since his injury. White is a veteran in this league and has been through his fair share of injuries, dating back to his first stint with the Buffalo Bills. Beane wants the world to know that White is doing everything in his power to get back healthy and competing on the football field.

Tre White is doing everything to return

When asked about White's injury and how he's working through his rehab, Beane gave an inside look at the veteran's work ethic. On top of that, the general manager was clear that there will be no concrete information available until next Wednesday, when the team releases their first injury report.

"We're rehabbing him as much as we can. Tre's got a great attitude, he's attacking it. Really, other than that, we're just going to take it day-by-day, I guess, and kind of see where that goes. I'm sure as we get into next week, Wednesday, I think is the first day that an injury report will be produced. We'll see what it is, whether he can practice any or not, or what that looks like at that time."

With Maxwell Hairston being placed on IR with the designated-for-return tag during roster cutdowns, the team will be without its first-round draft pick for at least the first four weeks of the regular season. Getting White back will go a long way toward regular-season success with his history with the organization and an insurance option at the position, while Hairston comes back from his own injury.

That's not the only positive injury update for the Bills Mafia. The team has been without receiver Khalil Shakir throughout the entire preseason after an ankle injury suffered during the "Return of the Blue and Red practice." Beane and the front office have discussed their hopes of having him back by the season opener, and it looks as though he's trending that way. The Bills practiced after the general manager's comments, and Shakir was back on the field participating in drills for the first time since suffering the injury.

A lot of good news, here's hoping that continues over the coming days and weeks.
