Bills' Josh Allen tries to downplay Stefon Diggs' sideline outburst against Jaguars

"People are throwing different ideas about what he was mad at on the sideline. He was mad at himself for running the wrong release on a route," Allen said in a Wednesday news conference. "I'm tired of hearing all this nonsense from people."

While Allen might be right about this being blown out of proportion, it's fair to question the QB. It's not the WR's first sideline outburst. Diggs seemingly yelled at Allen in a frigid interaction during a divisional-round loss to the Bengals last season. Also, in the offseason, he skipped OTAs and the first practice of mandatory minicamp, raising some eyebrows.

However, it's possible he was frustrated about the Bills' poor play against the Jaguars and nothing more. In the 25-20 upset, Buffalo had two turnovers and 11 penalties for 109 yards. 

"I'd be worried if no one is freaking out," Allen said of the loss. "That's the make of a good football team. We're not OK with being mediocre."

The Bills (3-2) aren't terrible, yet it feels like they're failing to fulfill their potential, as both of their losses were by one possession and games they should've won.

This season, Diggs has continued to show why he's an elite WR, with 39 receptions for 520 yards and five TDs, tied for first in the NFL. Perhaps, he wants his teammates to raise their game and be more consistent, so they can get over the hump after consecutive first-round exits in the postseason. So, it's probably not a cause for major concern for Buffalo fans.
