The Buffalo Bills will take on Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens at Highmark Stadium in the Divisional Round of the playoffs with the Week 4 curb-stomping by John Harbaugh's team in their minds.
Baltimore laid a beatdown in a 35-10 demolition as Derrick Henry and Co. had their way with a poor Bills defense. But now, as we enter the playoffs, both teams are considerably different.
For Buffalo, Josh Allen is an MVP favorite as the offense has been humming and the defense has tightened things up over the last month, not allowing more than 23 points in any game.
Looking back on that Week 4 loss, receiver Khalil Shakir knows what the plan of attack is this time around to prevent Buffalo's season from ending.
“They just executed better than us at the end of the day,” Shakir said. “We didn't play our best that day, they showed up, and they were the better team just overall. From just being where you're supposed to be, executing your job, they did better than us back in week four. There's been a lot of time since then, a lot of it is making sure that we don't make those same mistakes again, come out fast start and finish from start to the end.”
There is also another thread to pull here. The Bills are at home, where they are 9-0, including the postseason this year.
So that will give Buffalo confidence, and this will be a game that goes down to the final play, as both offenses have MVP-caliber quarterbacks.
Buffalo knows what it did wrong in Week 4, but knowing what you did wrong and making sure it doesn't happen again is a different thing entirely.
The Bills know the game plan; let's see if they can execute it.
