Bills Likely to Trade Keon Coleman After Insulting Interview

The Keon Coleman selection has not worked out for the Buffalo Bills, and it’s safe to say the team will trade him in the coming months. Originally joining the team as a second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Florida State product was supposed to bring some stability to a wide receiver room that desperately lacked talent. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for him, as Coleman quickly fell down the depth chart and was a healthy scratch late in the season.

While it’s possible for young players to turn their careers around after a slow start, it doesn’t sound like Coleman will do that in Buffalo. During a recent media apperance, owner Terry Pegula and General Manager Brandon Beane actively blamed former head coach Sean McDermott for the Coleman, which is a crazy thing to do when the player is still on the roster.

This all but officially signals the end of the Keon Coleman Era, and the team will trade him for whatever they can get. It probably won’t be anything more than a conditional seventh-round pick, but one of the following teams could roll the dice on the 22-year-old, big-bodied wideout.

Keon Coleman Trade Feels Ineviable After Owner, GM Comments

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints are a team on the rise. Rookie quarterback Tyler Shough looks like the real deal, and he could have this team competing for a division crown if he makes the Year 2 leap. Unfortunately, New Orleans is $20 million over the projected salary cap next year, which means they can’t go crazy in free agency.

General Manager Mickey Loomis will find a way to clear up spending money, but he could also trade for Keon Coleman as a cheap way to add talent to the room. Chris Olave is the only proven set of hands on the depth chart, and while Coleman shouldn’t be the only receiver added in the coming months, he might trive with a change of scenery and more opportunities.

Baltimore Ravens

Nobody loves taking low-risk, medium-reward chances more than the Baltimore Ravens. While Pro Bowler Zay Flowers has established himself as one of the game’s more reliable weapons, the rest of the depth chart leaves something to be desired. Rashod Bateman is coming off a disastrous season, and DeAndre Hopkins is very close to the end of his career.

Depending on who they hire, Baltimore’s next head coach could be interested in a Keon Coleman trade. He’d cost next to nothing and, considering the circumstances, could compete for a starting spot. It’s no harm if he doesn’t work out, but he has the physical gifts to be a reliable boundary receiver for Lamar Jackson.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers have a decent wide receiver trio in second-round pick Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, and longtime veteran Keenan Allen. While these three were servicable last year, Allen isn’t getting any younger and Johnston is much better off in a depth role. A Keon Coleman trade could give Justin Herbert another set of hands, and an offensive mastermind like new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel could bring out the best in him.
