The Buffalo Bills' season is just weeks away, and with the latest episode of Hard Knocks airing, the Bills Mafia is more than ready to see what this team can accomplish on the football field. If you missed Hard Knocks last night, no spoilers, but you are going to want to see what Josh Allen had to say about MVP and the Bills Mafia. It was perfect.

Buffalo Bills decide to part ways

Training camp is about getting the important reps in and fighting for your spot on the roster. It's also the time of year that teams are forced to make some difficult decisions. The team announced that they would be parting ways with LB Baylon Spector. Spector joined the organization as a 7th-round pick out of Clemson in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Spector had battled injuries throughout his career in Buffalo, and his inability to stay on the field likely contributed to his being waived from the team. During his tenure in Buffalo, Spector played in 26 games and totaled 52 tackles with 1.5 sacks and 1 fumble recovery.

The path ahead for Baylon Spector

This doesn't necessarily mean Spector won't come back. Now that Spector has been waived, teams can claim Spector. If he isn't, the LB would either end his season or allow for an injury settlement release, as Greg Tompsett from Cover One reports.

As previously reported, this opens the door for a specific fan favorite to cement his spot on the 53-man roster . That man is, of course, none other than "Buffalo Joe" Joe Andreessen. Andreessen and Spector were battling for a backup position, and this latest move bodes well for the former UB Bulls linebacker.

Bills sign LB to fill Spector's spot

In a corresponding move, Buffalo brought in some reinforcements to battle in the LB position. The team announced that they were signing LB Jimmy Ciarlo, who had originally entered the NFL with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of the Army in 2024. Ciarlo spent some time on the Jets' IR after an injury suffered in their preseason.

Ciarlo spent 4 years at Army, as Buffalo Bills PR shared via X. During his tenure, the talented LB appeared in 40 games with over 100 tackles and two sacks. Buffalo could use all the depth it can, as the team is battling injuries on both sides of the football.

Position battles are heating up as the team looks to the preseason to flesh out the 53-man roster. More difficult decisions are surely to come. It'll be fun to watch how these guys perform as their dream of being on an NFL roster is closer than ever before.

We're so ready for football. Here's everything you need to know about the team's first preseason matchup against the New York Giants.
