Bills' 'Potential Weakness' Narrative Again Resurfacing

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his questionable weapons have been a big talking point (again) this offseason, with many believing that if the franchise is to win its first-ever Super Bowl, a stud receiver is needed.

Now, we have stated for months that the Bills showed last season they don't need a true No. 1, with Joe Brady's "everybody eats" mantra fueling the offensive explosion. However, it was more about upgrading the defense, which was the big weakness of the roster.

Bleacher Report's Gary Devenport knows the receiver group isn't a strong one, so someone has to step up their game in 2025.

“The Buffalo Bills are a legitimate Super Bowl contender with a talented and balanced roster," Davenport wrote. "The Bills don’t have many weaknesses—on either side of the ball. But with that said, the Bills aren’t without potential weaknesses this year—including a wide receiver corps that isn’t exactly terrifying.

"Josh Allen has shown the ability to do more with less in the past, and Palmer has reportedly impressed in camp. But someone needs to step up opposite Shakir if the Bills are going to achieve their ultimate goal."

For us at least, that person nearly has to be second-year receiver Keon Coleman.

After a so-so rookie season that saw him total 556 yards and four touchdowns, more is expected of Coleman, and this offseason, he seems determined to take his game to another level.

Plus, we have Joshua Palmer, who has been a consistent contributor for the duration of his NFL career, posting at least 500 yards in his last three seasons, and then we have the bounce-back capability of tight end Dalton Kincaid, who saw injury derail his 2024 season.

Would it be nice if the Bills had a No. 1 receiver? Sure. But last season proved they don't need one, and it was the defense that needed upgrading, which it got in free agency and the draft.

Now, the Bills are seen as genuine Super Bowl contenders, still, without a No. 1 weapon.

Which tells you all you need to know.
