Cornerback Kader Kohou has not yet made his 2026 debut, but that could change shortly. His next NFL deal has been lined up.

Kohou signed with the Bills on Thursday, per a team announcement. This is a practice squad arrangement, to no surprise. After three years in Miami, Kohou missed all of 2025 due to an ACL tear.

The Chiefs signed Kohou to a one-year deal in March, although he did not survive roster cuts. Kansas City retained the former undrafted free agent via a taxi squad deal but released him earlier this week. Kohou will now look to carve out a role in Buffalo’s secondary. That unit currently ranks 30th in passing yards allowed per game.

Kohou totaled 47 appearances and 38 starts over the course of his Dolphins tenure. Much of his playing time came in the slot, and the 27-year-old could aim to earn a backup gig in that spot on his new team. Kohou could also see time on the perimeter in the event he finds himself on Buffalo’s active roster in the near future. The Bills moved on from safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson earlier this week, and it will be interesting to see if they make any other moves in the secondary leading up to the trade deadline.

Buffalo entered Thursday with just under $4MM in cap space. This Kohou accord will not take up a significant portion of that figure, but it could produce a new depth contributor on defense for the Bills during the second half of the season.
