Bills To Extend G O’Cyrus Torrence

A four-year extension agreement is now in place, per Torrence’s agents (h/t ESPN’s Adam Schefter). This deal is worth $78.4MM and includes $46MM in guarantees. Torrence will be under contract through 2030 as a result of today’s news.

In June, it was learned a mutual extension interest existed between team and player in this case. News of a long-term pact comes as no surprise as a result. Buffalo lost one guard starter (David Edwards) during free agency this spring. Torrence would have been a candidate to depart on the open market in 2027, but he will continue to serve as a stalwart up front for years to come.

In advance of his rookie campaign, Torrence won out a starting gig over Ryan Bates. Since then, the 26-year-old has gone on to appear in every game for the Bills, leading the team in snaps played by offensive linemen. Any long-term pact was always going to require a lucrative commitment on the part of the team, and one has indeed been made. Torrence’s new deal carries an average annual value of $19.6MM. That falls just short of the growing club of $20MM-per-year guards, but it ranks the former second-rounder eighth at the position in terms of AAV.

PFF’s evaluations of Torrence have not been stellar so far. Nevertheless, Buffalo is aiming once again for continuity up front as the team continues to push for a breakthrough to the Super Bowl. The Bills already have tackles Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown, along with center Connor McGovern, each on the books through at least the next two years. By keeping Torrence in the fold over the long term, they will ensure a high degree of stability along the offensive line. Only the left guard spot remains unsettled at this time.

Buffalo’s offense contains not only a number of notable contracts for the O-line but also quarterback Josh Allen, running back James Cook and receivers D.J. Moore and Khalil Shakir. Expectations will certainly be high for new head coach (and ex-offensive coordinator) Joe Brady for 2026 and beyond. If Torrence manages to remain healthy, he will continue to play a full-time role well into his second contract.
