Ryan Fitzpatrick’s Bo Nix Criticism Should Be a Wake-Up Call for the Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos were able to start Week 6 off with a victory, but the conversation surrounding Bo Nix isn’t a positive one.

Their 17-14 win over the Seattle Seahawks moved them to 4-2, but Ryan Fitzpatrick came away unimpressed by Nix’s performance.

Ryan Fitzpatrick Questions Bo Nix

On the postgame show, Fitzpatrick ended up saying, “Bo Nix is not playing competitively. It’s almost disrespectful to the quarterback position how he’s playing football.”

Fitzpatrick’s wording was harsh, and a poor performance doesn’t fully showcase a players effort level; however, there are legitimate concerns when it comes to Nix to justify this comment.

Nix completed 17 of 27 passes for 107 yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions. The Broncos ended up with just 168 total yards and scored nothing in the second half.

Denver’s defense is what helped them win the game. If the Broncos are going to go far this season, they need a quarterback who can excel under pressure, lead his receivers beyond just the underneath portion, and execute well. Nix has failed in all categories this season.

Sean Payton shares some of the blame as he needs to figure out how to generate more consistent production, but the issues with Nix are something he needs to figure out as well.
