The Seattle Seahawks began their Super Bowl title defense getting off to a 2-0 start to the 2026 NFL season despite losing Sam Darnold early in Week 1.

But even with Darnold back in the lineup in Week 3, the Seahawks sandwiched a win over the hapless Chargers between losses to the Washington Commanders and their division-rival San Francisco 49ers to fall to 3-2 and second place in the NFC West.

The next challenge for Darnold and Co. is a primetime clash against a top-10 passing-defense in the Denver Broncos on "Thursday Night Football," to kick off the Week 6 NFL schedule, where they’ll need Darnold to play a cleaner game than he has the past few weeks.

The nine-year veteran was held under 200 passing yards for the second straight game against San Fran, throwing one touchdown to two interceptions in the Week 5 loss. While he did rack up 379 yards and four touchdowns in the loss to the Marcus Mariota-led Commanders in his return, he’s also tossed five interceptions across those three contests.
