Although the NFL season is several months away, Boomer Esiason felt the need to call out New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart on WFAN.

The Giants finished the 2025 season with an underwhelming 4-13 record, but Dart proved he's got the potential to be a franchise quarterback. Despite only starting 12 games, the Ole Miss product had 2,272 passing yards, 487 rushing yards and 24 total touchdowns. While his production was off the charts at times, he only received one first-place vote for AP Offensive Rookie of the Year.

“I guess more people have conversations and things to say about me sliding that has nothing to do with my play on the field,” Dart told the New York Post. “It is what it is.”

So why did Esiason bring up Dart during this Wednesday's show? Well, the former MVP believes Dart could earn up to $70 million per year if he continues to develop his game the right way.

That being said, Esiason wants Dart to lock in and take care of business as the starting quarterback of the Giants.

"It's time for Jaxson Dart to get serious," Esiason said. "If you think about the amount of money he has the potential to make, these next two years can set him up for life. This is not hyperbole, it's not a joke, you can see him as a $70 million quarterback in New York."

The Giants aren't lacking confidence in Dart.

Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy raved about Dart's skillset during the start of their offseason program Tuesday.

Nagy declared that Dart possesses the "it factor" that most great quarterbacks have.

“I didn’t know how tough he was and how good a runner he was,” Nagy said, via Pro Football Talk. “At the Combine, us not really being in the quarterback market, watching him, just observing how he handled himself in that group of quarterbacks at the Combine, you could see this moxie he had, this it factor. When I got here to New York and started meeting with him, you could tell right away that was true. This kid is different in that way.”

Will Dart become the next great quarterback in the NFL? Giants fans are certainly hoping so.
