With NFL players mostly still enjoying their offseason, San Francisco 49ers star quarterback Brock Purdy has started enjoying a new hobby: Fishing.
Taking to Instagram recently, pro angler Carl Jocumsen shared some recent photos from a fishing trip he went on with Purdy. Naturally, the duo caught several fish. But to Purdy's credit, he claimed a monster bass of his own that he proudly showed off for the camera.
"Catchin Footballs with @brock.purdy13 Past couple of days have been pretty special in a lot of ways, our family got to spend a few days with Brock and his family and having one of the most epic fishing sessions you can ask for," Jocumsen wrote.
"Cant thank @kevinvandamfishing and @lukebryan enough for getting us the hook up on some amazing fishing. Faith, Family, fishing and finding our purpose it made for a special few days."
In a follow-up post, Jocumsen wrote that Purdy managed to catch three in one day. He shared the proof of Purdy bringing in one that was the size of his NFL arm.
"Brock Purdy caught his PB [personal best] Bass three times on the same day! " Jocumsen wrote. "So awesome seeing athletes from other sports have the same passion for fishing and the outdoors as we do! This was a day we won’t forget! Can’t wait for the next trip mate! "
Injuries limited Purdy to just nine games in 2025, but he still managed to go 7-2 as a starter, completing 69.4-percent of his passes for 2,167 yards and 20 touchdowns. He won more games in his nine starts this year than he did in 15 starts last year.
In the playoffs, the 49ers stunned the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles only to get clobbered by the rival Seattle Seahawks in the following round.
Expectations are going to be much higher in 2026, especially after the team got some pretty strong production out of backup Mac Jones for about half of the season to boot.
