Broncos Make $18.07 Million Jahdae Barron Decision

The Denver Broncos selected defensive back Jahdae Barron in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, at 20th overall. Barron joins Patrick Surtain II and Riley Moss in one of the best cornerback rooms in the league.

But, with training camp on the horizon, the Broncos' corner hadn't signed his rookie contract. With the drama surrounding Shemar Stewart of the Cincinnati Bengals, Barron being unsigned was slightly concerning.

Fortunately, those concerns were squashed, as Mike Klis of Denver 9 News reports that Barron and the Broncos have agreed to terms on a four-year contract.

Klis also reported that the Barron deal, over four years, will pay the former Texas Longhorns defensive back $18.07 million. He will also earn a $9.8 million signing bonus.

Between the Stewart drama and the second-round pick standoff (very few second-rounders have signed deals, as they look for fully guaranteed contracts), Barron being unsigned was slightly worrying.

With the second-round pick holdout, Broncos running back RJ Harvey is the last Broncos draft choice to be unsigned. Rookie minicamp and training camps are starting up around the league, forcing the second-round pick's holdout into focus.

For the Broncos, while the Harvey holdout is frustrating, it's a lot less stressful now that Barron is on his rookie deal. Instead of their top two picks being unsigned, it's just Harvey, who is looking for a fully guaranteed deal.

Now, with Barron signed to his rookie deal, Stewart of the Bengals is the only first-round pick to be unsigned. Denver was able to lock up Barron on his rookie deal before offseason training camps begin ahead of a potentially huge 2025 season for the Broncos.
