Could the Super Bowl head to the Rocky Mountains? One new plan involving the Denver Broncos presents some hidden ramifications for the big game.

The three-time Super Bowl winning franchise and the city are moving forward with a new stadium. Broncos owners Greg and Carrie Walton Penner unveiled a joint letter with Denver Mayor Mike Johnston and Colorado Governor Jared Polis announcing the move Tuesday.

But one feature is enough to convince the league to potentially consider taking the February spectacle 5,280 feet above sea level.

Hidden Detail of Proposed New Broncos Stadium

The owners and state politicians helped unveil the new Burnham Yard. Broncos players will soon play their home games in the heart of Denver.

Which stadium feature, though, presents the potential of a future Super Bowl?

"A world-class retractable roof stadium anchoring a dynamic mixed-use district" was described in the newsletter.

That feature alone could become enough for Roger Goodell to give Denver a try come February for a future location. Fans won't worry about snow piling onto the field. Halftime performers also won't get concerned over weather conditions.

"Denver has been the proud home of the Broncos since Day 1. This community-inspired vision will allow our city and team to continue to grow and thrive together at Burnham Yard," the statement further reads.

Burnham Yard once served as a railyard "that played a role in Denver's past." But the vision now becomes a transformational opportunity to liven up the future of the city.

The Walton-Penner ownership group will privately fund the costs of the stadium, the newsletter revealed. Denver has new visions of sprucing up its downtown region mixed with sports, entertainment, business ventures and housing.

The goal is to complete the stadium by 2031. It'll mark the third time the Broncos will receive a new home.

Denver played in the old Mile High Stadium until the 2000 season. The Broncos moved to Empower Field ahead of the 2001 campaign. The venue eventually witnessed Von Miller, Peyton Manning and countless others star inside Empower, including hosting three AFC Championship games.
