Bo Nix entered Monday night hoping to build on an impressive 2025 season by leading the Denver Broncos to a statement win over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Nix completed 63.4% of his passes for 3,931 yards, 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while adding 356 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns in 17 games.
Instead, Nix struggled from the start. His first drive ended with an interception by Chiefs rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane, and he never found much consistency afterward. Nix finished 17-of-28 for 131 yards, one touchdown and one interception while rushing for two yards as Denver fell 31-10. His repeated fumbles, missed targets and questionable decisions added to the frustration, while Kansas City’s defense recorded nine consecutive third-down stops to close the game.
Fans were quick to react to Nix’s performance on social media.
“Bo Nix is not a good QB man. Idk how many more times he has to show it,” one fan wrote.
“Bo Nix is the JJ McCarthy of Brock Purdys,” another fan posted.
“Bo Nix stunk up the field with that performance…smfh ,” a fan said.
“Real humans hyped up a Bo Nix led offense all offseason,” another fan joked.
“You guys can blame the defense, but Bo Nix has been a hot pile of garbage tonight,” one fan remarked.

The loss is especially concerning because Denver has the NFL’s toughest opening stretch. The Broncos face the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Chargers and Seattle Seahawks over their next five games. All five made the playoffs last season.
Nix and the Broncos now have plenty to fix before Jacksonville visits Denver in Week 2. The quarterback’s accuracy, ball security and decision-making will need to improve quickly if Denver is going to survive its brutal opening schedule.
