Broncos Sign WR Michael Bandy, Activate Kendall Hinton from PUP

The Denver Broncos executed a series of wide receiver moves preceding the first training camp practice open to fans.

The team announced Friday it has signed WR Michael Bandy and activated WR Kendall Hinton from the Physically Unable to Perform list. WR Nick Williams was waived in a corresponding transaction.

Bandy, 25, entered the league in 2020 after going undrafted out of San Diego. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound wideout spent two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, shagging 10 receptions for 89 yards while contributing 88 yards on four kick returns.

In March, Bandy became the first NFL free agent to join an XFL franchise, signing with the Houston Roughnecks where he contributed five catches for 35 yards across two appearances.

Both Bandy and Hinton will look to compete for snaps — and a roster spot — on the back end of Denver's crowded receiving corps, battling the likes of Marquez Callaway, Lil'Jordan Humphrey, Jalen Virgil, Montrell Washington, and Brandon Johnson.

Not yet participating in the competition are veteran KJ Hamler, who was sent to the Non-Football Injury list, and second-round rookie Marvin Mims, who's sidelined with a hamstring injury.

“He’ll be full probably in about four days, five days, maybe a week," Broncos head coach Sean Payton said Wednesday regarding Mims' status.
