The Denver Broncos are set to host a former first-round pick for a free agent visit in the coming days.
Wide receiver Treylon Burks is set to visit with Denver at some point next week, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. Rapoport indicates that Burks has received interest from other teams and likely will meet with others after his visit to Denver.
Burks was the No. 18 overall pick by the Tennessee Titans in 2022. He has caught 53 passes for 699 yards and a touchdown during his career. Burks’ best season came in his rookie campaign when he had 33 catches for 444 yards and a touchdown. Burks had just 4 catches for 34 yards in 5 games last season before undergoing season-ending knee surgery.
Burks suffered a fractured collarbone in July and was waived by the Titans with an injury designation. He was recently cleared to return to football activities and is now looking to join a new team.
The Broncos are 3-2 and have Courtland Sutton, Troy Franklin and Marvin Mims as their leading receivers. Burks was once drafted by Tennessee to serve as the replacement for A.J. Brown. That didn’t work out so well. Maybe just being a good practice squad player in Denver will be easier shoes to fill.
