The Broncos recently got Jonah Coleman back in the fold. Their backfield will again be at less than full strength moving forward, however.
Coleman dealt with a high ankle sprain early in his rookie campaign, but he was activated from injured reserve one week ago. He and veteran J.K. Dobbins are healthy backfield options at the moment, but losing Harvey for the time being will deal a blow to Denver’s offense. His second NFL season has included a 39% offensive snap share and 49 total offensive touches in six games so far.
Harvey has taken between three and seven carries during each of his appearances in 2026, and he made 10 catches in Week 4. The 25-year-old’s absence will have an impact on the ground but also in the passing game, and the Broncos will depend on a run of health from the Dobbins-Coleman tandem moving forward. Bringing Harvey back into the fold will use up one of Denver’s five remaining IR activations.
In a corresponding move, safety Taylor Rapp has been signed from the Broncos’ practice squad to their active roster. He has played in each of the past two games, and further appearances are now in store. As Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post notes, Talanoa Hufanga is out for tomorrow’s contest against the Chiefs while fellow safety starter Brandon Jones is listed as questionable.
