Browns 7-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft: Making sense of Cleveland’s picks with just over a week to go
Kirby Lee-Imagn Images

The 2025 NFL Draft will be held next week in Green Bay, Wisconsin and the Cleveland Browns will finally make a first-round selection once again.

After signing Joe Flacco to pair with Kenny Pickett, the Browns look poised to pass on a quarterback at the top of the draft. They’re still going to draft one and that is a must.

In my second to last mock draft before the real thing, the Browns use six picks on the offensive side of the football and four on defense.

Round 1, Pick 2: WR/CB Travis Hunter, Colorado

This seems to be the direction the Browns are going and Vegas believes it too. Clebdkand needs to ignite their offense and Hunter can do just that. The most talented athlete in the draft and the best wide receiver, which the Browns see as his main position. The question is will the Browns let him see the defensive side of the football too?

Round 2, Pick 33: QB Jalen Milroe, Alabama

Milroe may have arguably the highest ceiling in the draft but the lowest floor. As an athlete, he stands alone with his sub 4.4 40-yard speed. Milroe needs to sit a while and let the game slow down, and continue to work on his accuracy. Cleveland can let him do that in 2025.

Round 3, Pick 67: RB Dylan Sampson, Tennessee

One of my favorite running backs in the draft, Sampson can be the starting running back from Day 1 if the Browns choose, he is that good. Bringing back Nick Chubb is still on the table but he can’t be relied on to be more than depth. Sampson had nearly 1,500 rushing yards to go along with 22 touchdowns for the Vols in 2024.

Round 3, Pick 94: DL Jared Ivey, Ole Miss

Cleveland needs more depth on the interior of the defensive line, as well as another body on the edge. Ivey is an edge first with the ability to kick inside at 275 pounds. A player that produced in the SEC and that will stand out to Andrew Berry.

Round 4, Pick 104: TE Terrance Ferguson, Oregon

Cleveland recently hosted Ferguson for a visit and he would be a great fit. The Browns need a second tight end behind Njoku and Ferguson can be that guy. Oregon’s stud tight end is one of the most athletic at the position in the draft and tested as much with a 4.63 40-yard dash.

Round 6, Pick 179: OT Chase Lundt, UConn

Cleveland has to prepare for life after Jack Ocnklin and Dawand Jones hasn’t proven he can stay healthy. Adding a tackle is a must in this draft and Lundt would be drafted much higher if he played at a Power Four program. Lundt was a right tackle in college and could end up playing tackle or guard in the NFL.

Round 6, Pick 192: S R.J. Mickens, Clemson

Cleveland doesn’t have Juan Thornhill or D’Anthony Bell around anymore and needs to find a starting safety still. There are options out there in free agency, but depth needs to be added too. Mickens made seven interceptions and 196 total tackles in 60 college games.

Round 6, Pick 200: LB Cody Simon, Ohio State

Simon finally had a breakout year for the Buckeyes in 2024 and is a player who could give the Browns value on defense as depth and on special teams. Simon’s cowling is being a starter thanks to his well-rounded game and IQ but he could at least fill in as depth for the Browns.

Round 6, Pick 216: RB Jaydon Blue, Texas

Say the Browns don’t bring back Chubb, they’ll need two running backs in the draft unless they sign another free agent. Blue is a third-down back kind of player thanks to his receiving ability. If Joe Flacco is the guy, the Browns are going to throw it all around the field. Blue will help that cause.

Round 7, Pick 255: CB Jaylin Smith, USC

You know that Berry isn’t going to go a draft without taking a cornerback, a position he has drafted well at for the Browns. Smith has experience at safety and the nickel, where he will most likely play in the NFL.
