The Cleveland Browns begin their OTA offseason workouts on Tuesday, and much of the attention will be on the incoming rookies. That includes wide receiver KC Concepcion Jr., who was selected with the No. 24 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Concepcion was one of two wide receivers the Browns selected, alongside Denzel Boston (No. 39). After Cleveland ranked 31st in passing yards per game (165.2) last season, each is expected to make an immediate impact.
The Browns got their first look at the former Texas A&M Aggies wide receiver during the rookie minicamp from May 8-10. During that time, the first-round pick wore the No. 17, a switch from the No. 7, which he had with Texas A&M.
However, Concepcion has decided to make a change before OTAs officially begin. On Monday, the Browns announced that the wide receiver will be switching to No. 1.
"switchin' digits 1️⃣," the team wrote via an X post.
He becomes just the fifth player to wear No. 1 in Browns history, according to Pro Football Reference. The others are cornerback Martin Emerson, safety Juan Thornhill, wide receiver Jaelon Darden and wide receiver Michael Jackson.

Concepcion spent one season with Texas A&M (2025) and two with the NC State Wolfpack (2023 and 2024). In those three seasons, he accumulated 185 receptions for 2,218 yards and 25 touchdowns. He earned first-team honors as an AP All-American with the Aggies.
Now donning No. 1 with the Browns, he is looking to keep his production at a high level. Concepcion faces high expectations, with DraftKings giving him the 11th-best odds (+3000) to win Offensive Rookie of the Year.
