Browns' Jarvis Landry dedicates rest of season to injured Odell Beckham Jr.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry has been close friends with Odell Beckham Jr. since their time at LSU and, understandably, previously criticized any notion that the Cleveland offense may somehow benefit from Beckham suffering a season-ending torn ACL in the 37-34 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 25.

Landry told reporters on Thursday that he's playing to both help the 5-3 Browns make the playoffs and honor his teammate.

"Absolutely," Landry said when asked if he's moving forward this fall with Beckham in mind, per Grant Gordon of the league's official website.

"He would do anything to be out here on the field. The guys that are in this building from the coaching staff to the players that take the field with him, we all love the way that he worked. We all loved the leader that he was, the player that he is, and the way that he made plays to help us win these football games because honestly, we could not have really done that without him. For us, we have to just continue to play for each other and play for him. He is a part of this. He is a part of this so that is definitely added motivation for sure."

As much as Landry knows he has a job to do each NFL Sunday, he is also aiding in Beckham's rehabilitation.

"Every day that I come out here, I am still looking to the left and right hoping that he was out here," Landry explained. "Just from there, just making sure that I am doing my part as a brother, as a friend being there for him and making sure that his spirits are continually lifted, along with his family and friends, as well. I am just praying for a speedy recovery. I just can't wait to get him back out there on the field doing the things that he loves."

Heading into Sunday's Week 10 showdown with the Houston Texans, Landry leads the Browns with 50 targets, 33 catches, and 419 receiving yards. The 27-year-old hasn't yet found the end zone this season, though, after he recorded 10 receiving touchdowns in his first 32 games with Cleveland.

In positive news for the Browns, they expect to have Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb in the lineup this Sunday for the first time since he suffered an MCL sprain in a win over the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 4. Cleveland went 2-2 without Chubb.
