Browns' Myles Garrett involved in another noteworthy off-the-field incident

It appears that what has become somewhat of an offseason tradition regarding Cleveland Browns star pass-rusher Myles Garrett continued this winter. 

How fast was Myles Garrett reportedly driving during latest speeding incident?

Per Tyler Carey of Cleveland's WKYC and Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN, Garrett was cited for speeding in February after he was clocked allegedly going 94 mph in a 70 mph zone. He has had at least nine speeding citations in Northeast Ohio since Cleveland made him the first overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft. 

During the 2022 season, Garrett missed a game after he was involved in a single-car accident following a team practice. After he was cited for speeding last summer, he declined to take accountability for his actions. Then-Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski publicly said at the time that Garrett receiving yet another citation was "extremely disappointing."

The Browns parted ways with Stefanski this past January. 

What will come next for Myles Garrett? 

Garrett's numerous on-the-road incidents didn't stop the Browns from signing him to a four-year, $160M contract extension that included $123.5M guaranteed last offseason. He then set a new official single-season record of 23 sacks during the 2025 campaign. 

Not long after Garrett inked his latest deal, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam shared that Cleveland had "challenged" the 30-year-old "to become a real leader of the team." One would think Haslam would be at least slightly disappointed with the fact that Garrett seemingly continues to ignore certain laws of the road. 

Garrett became the subject of renewed trade rumors after the Browns finished the 2025 season with a record of 5-12 and after player-favorite defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz left the club following the hiring of new head coach Todd Monken. 

Unlike last offseason, Garrett has not yet gone public with a request to be traded to an advertised contender. While history suggests Browns general manager Andrew Berry won't be in a rush to jettison the two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award winner due to yet another speeding citation, it could be interesting to see if the outspoken Monken has something to say about Garrett's behavior this coming spring.
