Browns' Odell Beckham Jr. on track to play Week 1 vs. Chiefs?

The Cleveland Browns know they'll open the 2021 regular season with an opportunity to avenge January's playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. One thing still in question about that matchup is the status of star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who continues to recover from the torn ACL he suffered on Oct. 25.

Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports Beckham should at least be in the rotation come Week 1.

"Judging from Beckham’s workout posts on social media and from the reports we’re getting from the Browns, I believe he’ll be on the field for the Week 1 rematch in Kansas City on Sept. 12," she answered a fan-submitted question. "Beckham is running full speed, cutting and catching passes. He tore the ACL last Oct. 25 and had surgery in November, which would likely put him back on the field during training camp — at least on a limited basis."

Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said in early March that Beckham was "doing great" without offering any inside information on the 28-year-old's recovery, and quarterback Baker Mayfield told reporters last month: "I’ve talked to Odell, he’s very happy with where he’s at in the rehab process. I’m happy for him. He looks good, he feels good, and looking forward to starting where we should."

For now, fantasy football owners should feel safe stashing Beckham on their rosters.
