Shedeur Sanders’ first NFL season is officially over. The Cleveland Browns quarterback was able to make some noise towards the latter part of the campaign after not seeing action in the first half of the season. Sanders played in Cleveland’s final eight games of the season, starting seven of them.

Sanders finished his rookie year with a 3-4 record, registering 120-of-212 completed passes (56.6%) for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. The 23-year-old also logged 21 carries for 169 yards and one rushing TD.

Sanders, however, was involved in a troubling incident in November. This was after his Cleveland home was burglarized during an NFL game.

What was supposed to be a historic moment in Sanders’ career was marred by an unfortunate personal incident. The former Colorado Buffaloes star’s home in Granger Township was broken into and burglarized on Nov. 16, right as Sanders made his NFL debut for the Browns.

Sanders checked into the Week 11 game against the Baltimore Ravens after the injury to QB Dillon Gabriel. He logged 4-of-16 completed passes for 47 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception in his first taste of NFL action.

On Wednesday, the Medina County (Ohio) Sheriff’s Office revealed that three suspects have been arrested in relation to the burglary of Sanders’ home.

“The three individuals who allegedly broke into Sanders' home Nov. 16, as well as the driver of the vehicle involved, have been identified, the sheriff's office said in a news release. The fourth suspect is at large with an active warrant for his arrest, according to the release, which also stated that the investigation has been completed,” reported Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.

The report from the Sheriff’s Office also indicated that approximately $200,000 in property was stolen from Sanders. It is unclear if the stolen items were recovered.

Sanders is the latest victim of home burglaries across the NFL. Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were both burglarized last season. Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals also had thieves break into his home in December 2024.
