Brrrrrrr! How will the weather impact your Bills-Steelers bets?
Remember Buffalo's divisional playoff game against the Bengals last January? It looks like Mother Nature will have a say in the outcome of Bills-Steelers on Monday as well. Sam Greene/The Enquirer / USA TODAY NETWORK

Brrrrrrr! How will the weather impact your Bills-Steelers bets?

Handicapping NFL playoff games is never easy, but it becomes nearly impossible when freezing cold temperatures and winter storms invade playoff matchups. Unfortunately for us bettors, we have two cases of winter weather-impacted games on Super Wild Card Weekend: one was Miami Dolphins @ Kansas City Chiefs and the other is Pittsburgh Steelers at Buffalo Bills.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Buffalo Bills

Monday, 4:30 p.m. ET (postponed from Sunday)

Weather update: New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced at a press conference on Sunday that the Bills-Steelers playoff game will not be delayed for a second time. That means kickoff for 4:30 p.m. ET on Monday remains in place, despite the ongoing blizzard conditions and travel ban around Orchard Park.

The weather will likely play a factor even when the game is played on Monday afternoon, so keep an eye on the lines. We suggest consulting The Action Network before locking in your bets.

Miami Dolphins @ Kansas City Chiefs

Saturday, 8 p.m. ET
Temperature at kickoff: -5 degrees
Real feel: -23 degrees
Wind: 11-17 mph with gusts up to 30 mph
Precipitation: 13 percent chance, 0.0 inches of snow

There isn't any snow in the forecast for Chiefs-Dolphins, but the players are going to wish they were in comparatively balmy Buffalo when the freezing cold temperature hits their skin.

The Saturday night forecast is calling for below-zero temperatures and a real feel of -23 degrees. Negative 23! That would be the coldest game in franchise history for both the Chiefs and Dolphins. Wind is also expected to be a factor, as gusts could reach up to 30 miles per hour during the game.

Despite the frigid forecast, the betting market for Chiefs-Dolphins hasn't been affected as much. Still, Kansas City has moved from -2.5 to -4.5, and the total has dropped from 46.5 at open to 43.5.

If you're looking for a betting angle here, the Dolphins are 0-10 in games played below 40 degrees since 2017, while the Chiefs are 9-1 in their last 10 home games in such temperatures (via The National Desk).
