Bruce Arians hints Buccaneers won't trade RB Ronald Jones

As noted by ESPN stats, Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones has taken a back seat to Leonard Fournette and has logged only 44 carries for the defending Super Bowl champions over their first eight games, six of which Tampa Bay has won. Some have presumed the Buccaneers could make Jones available ahead of Tuesday's NFL trade deadline, but head coach Bruce Arians suggested Monday that won't be the case.

"It would have to be something really, really special. Because I love the way he's running," Arians said about potentially trading Jones, per Jenna Laine of ESPN. "It's just one nick on Leonard and then Rojo's the guy. And so to me, it's still a great one-two punch. It would have to be extraordinary."

Along with 194 rushing yards and a touchdown, Jones has also tallied four catches for 39 yards. He has been linked with a move to Tennessee after Titans star running back Derrick Henry suffered a foot injury that will sideline him for more than a month and that could prematurely end his season. The Titans added veteran Adrian Peterson to their practice squad Monday and will likely soon elevate him to the active roster.

Fournette has 439 rushing yards and four scores on the ground for the Bucs.
