Former Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Bryce Huff just had to have the last word before leaving for San Francisco.
On Friday, a deal was being finalized with the Eagles trading Huff to the 49ers in exchange for a mid-round draft pick. Huff was the subject of rumors during the offseason on what the Eagles would do with him after a wildly disappointing first and only season with the team.
The deal worked out for both sides as the Eagles will save $15 million in cap space in 2025, and Huff finds a new home where he has a better chance of playing. Unfortunately, his exit from Philadelphia is not going to be as graceful as some might hope.
Social media can be a funny place to express how someone feels. Huff decided to use it as a way to showcase his thoughts before walking out of the Eagles' lives forever.
On Friday, Huff used his Instagram to have a photo of himself in an Eagles shirt as his profile picture. He would likely use the peace symbol in the image to signal "peace out" to Philadelphia.

Huff was probably more excited to get out of Philadelphia than the Eagles were with trading him after a miserable season with the team last year. He finished with just 13 tackles, four quarterback hits, three tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in 12 games. A wrist injury cost him five games, and he was a non-factor during the playoffs as he was a healthy scratch in the Super Bowl.
Jalyx Hunt is expected to be the next man up and start the opposite side of Nolan Smith Jr. off the edge. Azeez Ojulari will challenge Hunt for the starting job, but with Hunt's experience in Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio's defense, Hunt should have the advantage.
This was a divorce that had been brewing early in the relationship, and both sides severed the ties sooner rather than later. The Eagles can move forward with their youth movement with more money in their pockets, and Huff heads to the West Coast to reunite with his old coach, 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Salah.
Huff can send all the cryptic messages and images all he wants, but Philadelphia has already moved on.
