The Tampa Bay Buccaneers likely will start Week 1 without key players Tristan Wirfs, their All-Pro left tackle recovering from offseason knee surgery, and Chris Godwin, their wide receiver rehabilitating from a second procedure on a dislocated ankle. Unfortunately, their troubles don’t end there.
Tight end Cade Otton’s availability for the season opener is in jeopardy, according to Head Coach Todd Bowles, who cited a new lower-body injury on top of the lingering hamstring issue Otton has battled all summer.
“He is sore,” Bowles stated via the team’s website. “He has another leg injury in addition to that [hamstring], so he will be out a little bit.”
Cade Otton is now questionable for the season opener against the Falcons due to a leg injury on top of a lingering hamstring issue, which could further strain the Buccaneers’ already depleted offense.
The Buccaneers’ 53-man roster currently lists Payne Durham, Devin Culp, and Ko Kieft as the team’s other tight ends.
