The Buccaneers have set themselves up with long-term stability.

Tampa Bay has given both head coach Todd Bowles and general manager Jason Licht multi-year contract extensions, per NFL insider Mike Garafolo.

Bowles is entering his fourth season as the Bucs' HC, and eighth overall after joining them as the defensive coordinator back in 2019 under Bruce Arians. It's a three-year extension for Bowles, which will keep him in Tampa Bay through the 2028 season. He released this statement after signing.

"I am excited to continue working with Jason for years to come as we build on the success we've enjoyed and keep reaching for even bigger and better goals," Bowles said. "My family loves Tampa and we're looking forward to delivering more great moments for our fans in the coming seasons."

Bowles' coaching career spans 28 years between the college and professional ranks. He has been one of the great defensive minds in the NFL for several years, and played a crucial part in the Bucs winning Super Bowl LV five years ago. Bowles has led Tampa Bay to three consecutive NFC South titles.

As for Licht, he the fifth-longest tenured general manager in the league, entering his 12th season with the Bucs. Prior to joining Tampa Bay in 2014, he worked in player personnel with the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, and Arizona Cardinals. Like Bowles, Licht also released a statement after receiving his extension.

"I am very grateful to the Glazer Family for the trust and belief they have shown in what we are doing here," Licht said. "I am also very excited to continue working alongside Todd well into the future as we continue our mission of finding and developing talented players and chasing additional championships for our fans."

The Bucs haven't had a HC for longer than three years since Jon Gruden, who was with the team from 2002-2008. Only Phil Krueger has served as Tampa Bay's GM (1978-1991) for longer than Licht. The Bucs will try to keep Bowles and Licht together for as long as possible as they look to bring another Super Bowl back to Tampa Bay.
