Buccaneers’ Fans Are Living A Charmed Life
Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images

I think that when we look back  at this current run the Buccaneers are on (2020 – present) we will be amazed at what they’ve accomplished. As a fan of this team since 1979, I’ve witnessed enough “downs” to really appreciate the “ups” we are experiencing now. It’s why I chuckle when I hear some fans say that we’re winning ugly or how we easily could be 0 and 3. News flash….that WAS where we always seemed to be for most of my 40 plus years of following this team. Ever the optimist, I always looked at my team with hope only to have reality set in by Halloween. I would wait for the draft and proclaim that this is the class that would turn our fortunes around. From Vinny to Jameis and every other QB drafted, traded for or  signed in FA, they all had varying degrees of success but never made the playoffs. In 40 years, there have been 3 golden eras of Bucs football: 1. 1979 to 83 (NFC Championship game) 2. 1997 to 2005 (2002 Super Bowl) 3. 2020 – present (2020 Super Bowl) In between you can see how tough it has been. Don’t take this current ride for granted folks because if you look around the league, you see how tough it’s been for some teams to even come CLOSE to what the Bucs have done. The Miami Dolphins last won a playoff game 25 years ago. I’ve had 3 wives since then! Enjoy the ride, appreciate every win and give the team all the support you can. In November I’ll be traveling to Tampa for their three game homestand which I’ve affectionately dubbed “the Tampa Trifecta!” By then I hope we have the South Division nearly wrapped up. Now my hope has turned to expectation and I prefer the latter, how about you?
