The Tampa Bay Buccaneers looks for their second win in as many games against the Texans. Unfortunately mounting O-line injuries could pose a significant challenge.
According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the Buccaneers’ O-line is bracing for a another change, with right tackle Luke Goedeke’s second straight missed practice potentially leaving only right guard Cody Mauch in his usual spot.
“Not a good sign for the Bucs’ makeshift offensive line. RT Luke Goedeke is not practicing again today. Charlie Heck could get the start at RT. That would mean only RG Cody Mauch would be in his original position in the OLine Monday night. Still several days to go.”
With Charlie Heck possibly starting at right tackle, the Buccaneers’ O-line concerns grow, and the team may need to look outside its current 53-roster for reinforcements.
Luke Goedeke is recovering from an ankle injury suffered in the season opener against the Falcons. Tristan Wirfs, the team’s left tackle, is also rehabbing a knee injury from the 2024-25 season that required surgery in July.
If the Buccaneers can get some of their key O-linemen back within the next couple of weeks, it would be a huge boost to Baker Mayfield and the offense, giving them a much-needed edge.
