Buccaneers RB Leonard Fournette apologizes to fantasy football owners on Twitter

Much was made about Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette's reported weight gain this summer during training camp and the team's apparent displeasure with it. The issue seemed to die down once the regular season drew closer, and with 45 carries for 192 yards along with four receptions for 19 yards through two games for the 27-year-old, conditioning concerns have been dispelled.

For those rostering Fournette in fantasy football, though, one thing has been missing. The LSU product addressed the topic on Twitter Monday morning, acknowledging his shortcomings and promising to do better.

Fournette finished with 180 rushing attempts for 812 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground in 2021, while adding 69 receptions for 454 receiving yards and two scores through the air. His 10 total touchdowns tied his previous best mark, set during his rookie season in 2017.

Through Week 2's Sunday games, Fournette ranks second in the NFL in rushing attempts, and fifth in rushing yards and rushing yards per game (96.0).
