Buccaneers Re-Sign DL C.J. Brewer to a One-Year Deal

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are re-signing defensive lineman C.J. Brewer to a one-year contract.

Via Fox Sports Greg Auman,

“Bucs are bringing back defensive lineman C.J. Brewer, who was an exclusive-rights free agent. One-year minimum deal. He’s 27, had 12 tackles last year and two sacks. Will compete for a backup DL spot on the 53 now.”

Brewer joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on May 15, 2023. He experienced several roster changes throughout 2023 and 2024. After being waived on August 29, 2023, Brewer was re-signed to the practice squad, only to be released on November 14, 2023. He was re-signed to the practice squad again on December 6, 2023, and later signed a reserve/future contract on January 23, 2024. In 2024, Brewer was waived on August 27, but quickly re-signed with the practice squad the following day. He was eventually promoted to the active roster on September 20, 2024.
