Buccaneers' Todd Bowles neither confirms, denies Tom Brady will practice Wednesdays

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles stating last month that star quarterback Tom Brady wouldn't be participating in Wednesday practice sessions so he could have scheduled maintenance days throughout the season appeared to be little more than "fake news" considering the fact that the seven-time Super Bowl champion practiced Wednesday that same week and has routinely worked during midweeks when healthy.

Bowles appeared on SiriusXM NFL Radio Monday coming off the Week 5 21-15 win over the Atlanta Falcons and was directly asked if Brady will be practicing on Wednesdays for the remainder of the campaign.

"It’s still early on in the season," Bowles responded, according to the Joe Bucs Fan website. "We have some things we’re trying to get done right now. So we’re making sure that gets done before we get into all that."

It's another twist in a season that's probably been unlike any other experienced by the 45-year-old future Hall of Famer. Brady's name continues to be in headlines regarding stories claiming he and wife Gisele Bündchen have hired divorce attorneys, and some have said the signal-caller has looked "miserable" throughout the past month or so.

Most recently, Brady missed a practice last week for reasons officially associated with right finger and right shoulder injuries, and he was later accused of purposely kicking Atlanta's Grady Jarrett multiple times on Sunday afternoon.

Per ESPN stats, Brady began Monday ninth in the NFL among eligible quarterbacks with a 96.5 passer rating, 15th with a 51.8 total QBR, fourth with a 68.1% completion percentage, and third with 1,409 passing yards for the season. He's thus far matched seven touchdown passes with a single interception.

Brady and the 3-2 Buccaneers next play at the 1-4 Pittsburgh Steelers this coming Sunday.
