Buccaneers' Tom Brady reverses course, practices Wednesday

Following this past Sunday's 20-10 win, Tampa Bay head coach Todd Bowles confirmed a previous report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that said quarterback Tom Brady won't practice on Wednesdays moving forward so that the 45-year-old can have scheduled maintenance days throughout the campaign.

It seems Brady wasn't a fan of that plan heading into this Sunday's home game versus the 1-1 Green Bay Packers.

As Nick Shook noted for the NFL's website, Brady was spotted on the practice field on Wednesday. Rapoport later explained that the seven-time Super Bowl champion signal-caller merely felt good enough physically to participate in the session.

The Joe Bucs Fan website added that Brady "took days off last year during the regular season, but there were many weeks when he practiced every day" before games. That outlet also reminded fans that the G.O.A.T. "likes to practice and has spoken openly about how valuable it is."

Brady feeling well enough to practice happened just days after the veteran admitted during Monday's edition of his "Let's Go!" SiriusXM show and podcast with broadcaster Jim Gray that he was dealing with a hurting ring finger on his throwing hand coming off the win in New Orleans.

"I banged it up pretty good," Brady said about the finger at that time. "But, you know, it didn’t affect me at all in the game. It’s just going to be sore throughout the week. One of those bumps and bruises that come along with playing, different things, you get kicked, you get kneed and all these things come up. It’s demolition derby out there. It’s who can recover fast enough in order to put yourself in a position to practice, prepare and then go play well the next week."

Brady appears to have recovered quickly from his latest physical issue and will look to find some positive momentum against Green Bay. Per ESPN stats, he began Wednesday 20th among eligible quarterbacks with an 82.8 passer rating and 23rd with a 38.6 total QBR for the young season.
