Few NFL teams tout as popular of a throwback uniform set as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Known by the famous "creamsicle" nickname, the uniforms are popular among both new fans who are not familiar with the kit and those in the older group who admire the nostalgia that they bring.

Following a hiatus lasting over a decade, the Bucs brought them back for the 2023 season and they made a second straight appearance in 2024. The upcoming season will make it three years in a row following Tuesday's announcement.

Tampa Bay announced a series of celebrations for each of their 10 home games, including the preseason, commemorating the team's 50th season. The Bucs' Week 15 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons will mark the official return of the "creamsicle" uniforms.

The team returned their throwbacks against the Falcons last year as well, ending in a 31-26 defeat in Week 8. In fact, the Bucs' success in these uniforms has been minimal since retiring them as their official kit in 1996.

Tampa Bay lost in their first contest after the most recent absence in 2023 and have lost five of their last six including the four-year span from 2009 to 2012 when they made their initial return.

The Bucs hope for better luck this time around not only based on the jerseys but the opponent as well. Tampa Bay lost to the Falcons in both matchups last season and they project as their strongest rival in the NFC South once again.

They managed to hold onto the South for the fourth straight season but a similar pattern in 2025 could be detrimental in their quest for their fifth straight division title.
