Josh Allen, James Cook, and the Buffalo Bills won’t need to change their travel plans next summer, as the team announced on Thursday that it will continue holding training camps at St. John Fisher University in Rochester, N.Y., through 2028.
The Bills first held a training camp at St. John Fisher in 2000, and Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane reiterated that traveling for training camp is “important to our team.”
“Even though it’s a dying breed of teams that like to go away,” Beane said, “and we love our facilities here, we feel it provides such an important element of team chemistry, bonding, a real focus for everyone for how to prepare our team for a long season.
“They do such a great job for us,” Beane continued. “The staff is excellent there. It’s a nice change of scenery to fire you up for the season.”
As Beane noted, the Bills are one of several organizations left that still travel for training camp. The Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, Green Bay Packers, and New England Patriots all hold training camp on-site at their home stadium.

Other teams, such as the Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, and both the Giants and Jets, have dedicated training facilities. However, the Bills aren’t alone in practicing at a university, as the Kansas City Chiefs (Missouri Western State University), Los Angeles Rams (Loyola Marymount University), and Pittsburgh Steelers (Saint Vincent College) all did so in 2025.
“We are grateful to the Buffalo Bills organization for instilling its trust in us to continue this beloved summer tradition in Western New York and look forward to their return in 2026 and beyond,” Fisher president Dr. Gerard J. Rooney said. “It’s a win for Fisher, Bills fans, and for the greater Rochester community.”
Only the Steelers and the Cleveland Browns (CrossCountry Mortgage Complex in Berea, Ohio) have held training camp at the same site longer than the Bills have at Fisher. The Tennessee Titans also began conducting training camp at St. Thomas Sports Park in Nashville, Tenn., in 2000.
The Bills’ training camp announcement comes amid another strong season in Buffalo. NFL Media gives the Bills an 87% chance to reach the postseason, trailing only the Indianapolis Colts (96%) in the AFC, as of October 30.
However, Buffalo’s playoff odds will increase to 95% with a Week 9 victory over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. FanDuel Sportsbook lists the Bills as +1.5 home underdogs (-105; bet $100 for a $195.24 payout) as of Thursday afternoon.
The Bills have not missed the playoffs since 2018 and remain on pace for their seventh consecutive 10-win season.
