Buffalo Bills React to Josh Allen Announcement on Thursday

Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills is preparing for the 2026 NFL regular season after moving on from head coach Sean McDermott after nine seasons. Offensive coordinator Joe Brady was elevated to head coach. Allen had his typical tremendous season last year, throwing for 3,668 yards on a 69.3% completion percentage to go along with 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Allen was strong in the run game last year, bulldozing his way to 10+ rushing touchdowns for the third straight season, finding the end zone 14 times, along with breaking former Carolina Panthers legend Cam Newton’s record of 75 career rushing touchdowns, with Allen now in the lead with 79.

With the 2024 NFL MVP cementing himself in the all-time record books, on Thursday, Allen’s place was stamped into the books for the 2026 season.

Before the start of the 2026 NFL regular season, players in the NFL vote for who they believe are the best players for the upcoming season. This is the highest finish on the annual list for the Firebaugh High School graduate, with the two-time All-Pro winner making the list every year since 2020, with the full list below.

For Buffalo, along with Allen, running back James Cook came in at No. 20, and offensive tackle Dion Dawkins finished No. 57. The 2024 Art Rooney Award winner finished No. 1 overall among quarterbacks on the 2026 list.

The Bills went to social media to react to the NFL announcement of Allen finishing at No. 2. On the social media website Instagram, Buffalo posted a graphic showing Allen and his No. 2, celebrating the announcement.

“THAT’S. OUR. QUARTERBACK,” the Buffalo Bills wrote on Instagram. “@joshallenqb is No. 2 on the NFL Top 100 list!”
