The Buffalo Bills signed veteran Linebacker Shaq Thompson to a one-year contract on Tuesday. He is coming to the team following 10 years with the Carolina Panthers. While a solid player, his last two seasons have been derailed by injury. He suffered a broken fibula in 2023 and a torn Achilles last season. He has only been able to play six games over the last two seasons. His tenure with the Carolina Panthers ended with 750 tackles, 12 sacks, and 5 forced fumbles. Will he be able to revitalize his career with the Buffalo Bills in 2025?

Thompson joins a Bills squad hoping 2025 is the year they can finally break through in the AFC. Buffalo has been sent home by the Kansas City Chiefs in four of the last five postseasons. He will join a strong defense that includes Defensive End Greg Rousseau, Defensive End Joey Bosa, and Linebacker Terrel Bernard.
Thompson’s signing is a low-risk one for the Buffalo Bills. The biggest question is whether he can remain on the field. If he can, Thompson can be a contributor to a team with championship aspirations.
