For many eyes around the NFL, the league Is turning its attention to the offseason, with plenty of coaching and front office positions set to come open around the league.

The Bills are preparing to be in the playoffs dance, but one of their front office members was recently mentioned in an article highlighting candidates for future General Manager positions — Terrance Gray, Buffalo's current director of player personnel.

Bills director of player personnel Terrance Gray: Gray’s a rising name that interviewed with the Raiders and Chargers last year, and has been recommended to teams coming out of the accelerator program. Having cut his teeth on the college scouting side, Gray’s role grew into a global one with the departures of Joe Schoen and Dan Morgan a couple years back, and he’s worked on the pro side, the cap, and through CBA issues, while the Bills have made him a more forward-facing member of the front office (giving him some exposure to the media). It’s worth mentioning that ex-Vikings GM Rick Spielman, helping to lead the Jets search, hired him in Minnesota.

Gray has been drawing interest in recent years. This past spring, Gray was linked to the division-rival New England Patriots. They requested an interview for their director of player personnel position, which he declined to interview for.

Gray played at Oregon State University in college before getting his first role with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2003, working for three years in player development before being named the team's player development coordinator in 2005. Gray also spent 11 seasons as a college scout with the Minnesota Vikings before heading to Buffalo. He's been with Buffalo since the beginning of this regime. When head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane were hired in 2017, Gray was hired before climbing to assistant director of player personnel for the team in 2020. He was promoted to his current role in 2022.

Gray has been a key fixture in the Buffalo front office. Whether or not he decides to stay in Buffalo for the foreseeable future remains to be seen, but he clearly has the attention of other organizations.
