Vikings interested in bringing back familiar face amid WR injuries

The Minnesota Vikings are reportedly considering a reunion with former All-Pro wide receiver Adam Thielen, who was a star for the team during his prime.

As Schefter notes, the Vikings are in the market for a wide receiver due to increasing injuries and wideout Jordan Addison's three-game suspension.

Minnesota is hardly the only team that needs receiver depth, as the injury bug has bitten the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots in recent days.

However, Thielen isn't an ideal option for the Vikings. The 35-year-old last made a Pro Bowl appearance in 2018 and is coming off a season where he recorded 48 receptions for 615 yards and five touchdowns in just 10 games as he dealt with a hamstring issue.

Minnesota should pass on giving up draft capital for the two-time Pro Bowl receiver due to his age and declining production. Plus, after being with the Panthers in training camp, Thielen would have to quickly get on the same page with J.J. McCarthy to have any impact before Addison returns in Week 4.
