“When it’s time to be Superman, be Superman.” These words were spoken by Bears quarterback Caleb Williams before the team’s opening game of the 2025 season. Throughout this year, Williams has consistently embodied this mindset.
In his second year, Caleb Williams has delivered an array of dazzling plays. In fact, he has led a game-winning drive in four of the Bears’ last six games, showcasing his talent once again on Sunday.
With 6:13 left in the game, the Bears trailed the Giants 20-10, and the offense seemed to be stuck.
Although the Bears’ offense had been able to move the ball for much of the game, they struggled to capitalize during critical moments and left too many opportunities slip by. The wide receiver corps was especially disappointing, contributing to the team’s failures with a total of seven drops, including two potential touchdowns.
This lack of consistency prevented the offense from finding a rhythm; every time they gained momentum, a dropped pass would stall the drive.
#DaBears hold the record for most drops in a game. A record they broke from the previous week in the same season. In 2016 they dropped 11 passes in their week 12 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

Despite these challenges, Caleb Williams managed to orchestrate a remarkable drive, narrowing the gap to one possession.
In just nine plays, over the span of two minutes, 17 seconds, Williams marched the Bears down the field. This drive included his best throw of the day to Colston Loveland, and ended when Caleb found Rome Odunze for a two-yard touchdown, bringing the score to 20-17 with just under four minutes remaining.
The Bears defense then stepped up in a crucial fourth-quarter moment, forcing the Giants to a three-and-out and allowing them to only take 1:03 off the clock. With a little help from Giants punter Jamie Gillan, the Bears kicked off their potential game-winning drive with excellent field position, and it didn’t take long for the offense to respond.
In just four plays, Caleb Williams led the team down the field again, capping off the drive with a game-winning 17-yard touchdown run.
This kind of performance in the fourth quarter has become the norm for Caleb Williams. Time and time again, he rises to the occasion when it matters most and carries his team.
In the fourth quarter this year, Caleb has totaled 670 total yards and five total touchdowns, with only one turnover and a passer rating of 100. While there is room for improvement in terms of consistency early in games, these statistics are encouraging indicators that Caleb Williams is developing into a franchise-level quarterback.
