Cam Skattebo makes shocking revelation about his ankle injury

New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo briefly considered ending his NFL career after just seven games.

Skattebo said his plan coming into the NFL was to retire if he endured any serious injury. Seven games into his rookie year, he endured a severe ankle injury that ended his season.

Skattebo admitted that for a brief period after he suffered the injury, he questioned whether or not he should come back.

“Coming out of college and going to the NFL, I gave myself one rule. If I ever got a major injury, I was done playing,” Skattebo said. “That happened seven games into my career. It kind of sucked, but I think that really helped me find who I am as a player and as a person.

“The first month, I was like, do I really want to do this? But it was seven games. I’ve got to go back and play.”
