Cam Ward Predicted to Replace Future Hall of Fame QB in NFL Mock Draft

It was a great season for Miami quarterback Cam Ward, who finished the season completing 305-of-445 passes for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns, seven interceptions and finished fourth in Heisman Trophy voting.

Now, though, he's set to start preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft, where he is considered by many to be the best quarterback available.

In a mock draft done by Rylan Wilson and Mike Renner of CBS Sports, they predict the New York Jets will acquire the No. 1 pick from the Tennessee Titans to select Ward.

"Compared to everyone else, they are in a bad spot to get a quarterback at No. 7 if they don't make a big play. ... This is the class to do it where you'll have evaluations all over the map," said Renner. "If the Titans aren't in love and are shopping the pick, I would be the first to call if I'm the New York Jets because if Cam Ward hits, you are a championship-caliber football team very, very quickly."

This puts Ward in a position to replace the soon-to-be-cut Aaron Rodgers, who, as a 10-time Pro Bowler and four-time MVP, is considered a lock to eventually make the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

It also means he would be taking control of a Jets' offense that performed very poorly in 2024, ranking 24th in total yards per game (310.3) and tied for 24th in points per game (19.9).
